NAPO-SFBA Member Benefits

Members at ConferenceAs one of the largest NAPO chapters in the country, we are able to offer many ways to meet, confer, learn, get involved, develop your business and get to know your colleagues. These benefits are in addition to the various national programs available to all NAPO members. Below are some of the many benefits of NAPO-SFBA membership.

Chapter Meetings

Chapter meetings are one of our most popular benefits. They showcase speakers addressing topics of interest to organizers. Join your colleagues to explore new tools and approaches that can help you develop and enhance your organizing practice and grow your business. Informal networking and lively exchanges take place before and after in-person meetings. Chapter Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month, at the Westin San Francisco Airport Hotel in Burlingame. Four times a year, we offer telemeetings.  Visit the Events Calendar for more details.

Monthly Newsletter

Our monthly email newsletter, Bay Area Connections, covers a wide range of topics related to organizing and running a small business. It introduces new members to the chapter and keeps all members apprised of chapter business and projects.

Membership Directory Listing

Each member has a customizable profile listed in the  Membership Directory. The public can use the Find an Organizer search to locate your business.

Members-Only Section

The Members-Only section of our website provides many resources to assist you in developing your business, cultivating professional relationships, and finding solutions for day-to-day challenges. Our members contribute to a Resource Database to provide local resources to ensure you can address your client needs. An active email group of members is a resource for questions.

Regional Conference

Our Regional Conference attracts attendees from across the country as well as Corporate Associate Members and the public. NAPO-SFBA hosts this one-day conference packed with educational sessions, exhibitors, and networking opportunities. Details appear in the Events Calendar and on the website as conference approaches. Chapter members receive a special rate.

Neighborhood Groups

Neighborhood Groups allow chapter members throughout the Bay Area to meet and get to know fellow members who live and work nearby. These groups engage members and cultivate connections and cooperation among chapter members. Visit the Events Calendar to find a Neighborhood Group near you (visible to members only).

Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

Special Interest Groups support our members’ professional education by focusing on a theme or passion. SIGs offer a free exchange of ideas between NAPO members and can involve roundtable discussions, presentations by members, teleconferences, webcasts and outside speakers. SIGs are open to all current NAPO-SFBA members. Any member may coordinate a SIGs. Our new member SIG is known as the Savvy SIG. SIG meetings are listed on the Events Calendar.

NAPO-SFBA Mentoring Program

The NAPO-SFBA Mentoring program arranges temporary pairings of experienced organizers with newer members. This program helps mentees develop professionally while aiding mentors in building their leadership skills. New organizers who are just launching their businesses as well as more seasoned organizers wanting to branch into a new business area are all able to take advantage of this opportunity.

To find a mentor, become a mentor, or learn more about the mentor program, contact our Mentor Coordinator.

NAPO-SFBA Lending Library

Our chapter’s lending library offers  a wealth of print and audio materials for members to borrow for up to two months at a time. Materials are focused on helping members prepare for the CPO® examination. The Chapter purchases access to past NAPO National Conference streaming sessions that members may use at any time. The library catalog is accessible from the Members Only area. Have questions about the library? Contact the Chapter Librarian.

NAPO-SFBA Scholarships

Our chapter maintains a Scholarship Fund to assist those members who need financial help to attend the NAPO-SFBA Regional Conference or the NAPO National Conference. Distributions are based on the number of requests made and the amount of funds available. All applications are confidential. The Fund is supported by proceeds from chapter raffles, sales of products and monetary donations.

National Golden Circle

NAPO Professional Members who have been members for five or more years are recognized for their commitment to the profession by receiving the NAPO Golden Circle designation. These veteran members have the opportunity to attend local Golden Circle meetings and events, attend special Golden Circle only session(s) at the NAPO Annual Conference & Organizing Expo™, and receive a digital web badge to use in their brand marketing. Our local Golden Circle meets quarterly.
